The TST-3 Alpin T is based
on a glider with ten years of production history. Read what Douglas
Kyllo has to say....
| The TST-3 Alpin T is the redesign of the TST-1. The TST-1 Alpin came to fruition about 10 years ago, at a time when folks were not allowed to fly in Czechoslovakia, for fear that they would leave the Socialist ruled country. "Now a free democracy, TeST has been free to market its products throughout the Europe - successfully I might add, " say Douglas Kyllo. The redesigned TST-1 Alpin (now the TST-3) features a larger cockpit, which can accommodate up to at least a 6'4" pilot. It features a "T" tail and winglets which increase the span to 13.8 meters. This translates to 45 feet ... which gives the pilot improved thermalling capabilities. The visibility is extraordinary!! The wing area is 108 sq. ft. for light lift days!!! |
Doug has the TST-3 hangared at Arlington airport in NW Washington where he is located on the wet side of the mountain where lift is scarce and light ... thus, the motorized version of the Alpin fills the bill.
T-tail,
