The tank, full of copper sulfate, has three stainless steel bars across the top. Connect a low voltage transformer to the bars. The two outer bars are positive and the middle bar is negative. Connect the piece to be plated to the middle bar with wiring going from the bar to the conductive area on the piece. The electric charge goes from positive to negative carrying the copper in the copper sulfide to the piece, slowly building up the surface on the piece in 24-48 hours.
