The tank, full of copper sulfate, has three
stainless steel bars across the top. Connect a low voltage
transformer to the bars. The two outer bars are positive and the
middle bar is negative. Connect the piece to be plated to the
middle bar with wiring going from the bar to the conductive area
on the piece. The electric charge goes from positive to negative
carrying the copper in the copper sulfide to the piece, slowly
building up the surface on the piece in 24-48 hours.
