Then...

and Now...

I spent 14 years in the U.S. Navy as a Sonar Technician before calling it quits in 1994 with the downsizing of the military.  Through my various tours of duty I've had the pleasure of sailing around the world and experiencing the sights and cultures of various different countries including Japan, Korea, Phillipines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Bangladesh, Bermuda, Puerto Rico, Spain, Italy, Israel, US Virgin Islands, Sicily, Panama, Guantanamo Bay Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala and Mexico.  My most memorable port visit was a one night stay in Rabual, New Britian which was a major Japanese port during World War II.

My duty stations have included:

USS Lockwood FF-1064 homeported at the time in Yokosuka, Japan

USS Capodanno FF-1093 homeported in Newport, Rhode Island

Fleet Anti Submarine Warfare Training Center Pacific (Fleaswtracenpac) in San Diego, California

USS Marvin Shields FF-1066 homeported in San Diego, California (unfortunately, I was part of the decommissioning crew for the "Marvy Do" in July of 1992)

USS Sterett CG-31 homeported in San Diego, Ca

Presently, I'm back in Minnesota and am a School Bus driver/mechanic  which I really enjoy. I'm still divorced and my only son Brent is a graduate of  Braham, Mn High School Class of 98.

And here's a picture of Brent.
