The following is a list of the business places in New Eden sometime after 1914. On Main Street beginning on the west was the Sommers Pool Hall and Dance Hall, then the Post Office and Printing Shop owned by John Bauer, the Drug Store owned by Harry Sherin, the Hagen & Nelson Merchandise, Kuntz Barber Shop, a Hardware Store owned by George Nelson and Frank Thomas, the P.B. Carlson Store, The First National Bank occupied the corner place. Across the street but still on the north side was the State Bank with John Zemback, cashier. North of the First National bank was the livery stable (In Dec. 1914, Henry Burget was killed by Charles Kinsloe in a shooting incident in the livery stable. The site is now occupied by the house owned by the Elevator. The livery stable is now on the former Joe Keintz farm). East of the State Bank was a creamery owned by Wm. Redman, Dr. Anders occupied the next building and Mrs. Anders operated a millinery business in the same building. The Interior Lumber Co. was next and was managed by Douglas Webster. On the east side of the railroad track was the Miller Elevator managed by Chas. McGee and north of the elevator was the stock yards and a feed store operated by Helm.

On the south side of Main Street was the Hagen and Nelson Implement and Garage. Across the street but still on the south side a Pool Hall and Barber Shop owned by A. Pointer, the Eden Hotel, owned by Mrs. Susan and Hattie Opitz, a Grocery store owned by Mike Trautner, the Schindler and Woulph Hardware, the Trei Hardware. Across the street was the Farmers Lumber Co. owned by A. Karpen and Frank Mohs, the Railroad depot and across the tracks was the Osborne McMillan Elevator managed by Joe Doran. Further south was another elevator. The blacksmith shop was south of the Trei Hardware and across from it was the Standard station and a garage. The town also had a telephone office and a public school.

Eden does not have as many business places today and the following is a list of business places operating in 1978: Post Office, Schulz Service Station, The Farmers Bar, Blue Denim Lounge and Cafe, Fred's Service Station, First National Bank, The Fire Hall, Farmers Elevator (Farmers own two elevators in Eden and also own the Lake City Elevators), Eden Implement owned by Larry Neuberger, Eden Market, the Michlitsch Store, Brewsters Building Center, Gruby Oil Co. Community Oil Bulk Station, Dakotah Inc., Steve Samson's Repair Shop. The Sommers Pool Hall (now owned by C.
