October 5, 1876 Homestead Certificate issued to Kornelius Hengen. Fee of $3.52 paid.
January 25, 1877 Kornelius & Elisabeth Hengen mortgaged land to New England Mortgage Security Company of Windom County, Connecticut for $300. The mortgage was payable on January 25, 1882 at 10% interest payable annually on July 1st at Corbin Banking Company, New York City.
January 19, 1882 Kornelius Hengen, unmarried, mortgaged land to The Farmers and Mechanics Savings Bank of Minneapolis for $350. The mortgage was payable 5 years from date at 9% interest payable semi-annually.
February 9, 1882 The New England Mortgage and Security Company released the mortgage to Kornelius Hengen & his wife.
February 21, 1884 Writ of Attachment against the land by Joseph Culross, Deputy, for Ole J. Urness, Sheriff. Cornelius Hengen owed C. Aultman & Co. $114.22. (see Court Case #2)
May 8, 1886 Cornelius Hengen sold land to John Kraemer for $1000. The land was "free from all incumbrances except a certain mortgage of $350."
August 20, 1886 John Kraemer and Mary Kraemer sold land to Mathias Kotschevar for $1000. The land was "free from all encumbrances except $350 mortgage."
January 13, 1887 Mathias Kotschevar (single), mortgaged land to Mary E. Barnard of Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts for $600. The mortgage was payable 5 years after date at 7% interest paid semi-annually.
February 11, 1887 Mortgage for $350 satisfied. Mortgage dated January 19, 1882 by Kornelius Hengen to the Farmers and Mechanics Savings Bank of Minneapolis.
January 23, 1892 Mortgage for $600 satisfied. Mortgage dated January 13, 1887 by Mathias Kotschevar (single) to Mary E. Barnard.
February 25, 1892 Writ of Attachment discharged. Writ dated February 21, 1884.
September 12, 1892 Mathias Kotschevar and Agnes Kotschevar sold land to Michael Pikulik for $2400. The land was subject to a mortgage of $1000.
December 18, 1926 John Kraemer swore that Cornelius Hengen was a widower and unmarried at the time of the Warranty Deed dated May 8, 1886.
