September 25, 1872 Homestead Certificate #772 for the land was issued to Stephen Gross
June 19, 1875 George Geissel, Stearns County Sheriff, sold the land at auction to John H. Linneman. On December 27, 1871, judgement was issued in favor of the plaintiff, John H. Linneman, against the defendant, Stephen Gross for $154.97. The auction yielded $202.45 for the land (plus 32 acres of NE¼NE¼ Section 19, Township 124 North, Range 32 West). The sale was subject to redemption within one year.
July 31, 1875 Stephen Gross mortgaged the land (plus 32 acres of NE¼NE¼ Section 19, Township 124 North, Range 32 West) to Peter Brauch for $800 payable in one year at 12% interest.
August 2, 1875 John H. Linneman testifies that Stephen Gross paid him $204.20 to redeem the land sold to Linneman at the auction held on June 19, 1875.
May 23, 1876 Stephen Gross (a widower) sold the land to Joseph Halbauer for $2300, subject to a mortgage for $800 given to Peter Brauch
May 12, 1887 Mortgage on the land was satisfied.
December 31, 1888 Paul Brauch of Benton County, Minnesota sold three mortgages to Peter Brauch of LeMars, Iowa for $3554. One of the mortgages, dated April 6, 1887, (and recorded May 13, 1887) was to Joseph Halbauer and Theresia his wife. (The mortgage is referenced as being listed in Mortgage Deeds Book V, page 550.)
January 3, 1903 Joseph Halbauer and Theresia Halbauer, his wife, sold N½SE¼ (80 acres) to John Lieser for $50.
January 3, 1903 Joseph Halbauer and Theresia Halbauer, his wife, sold SE¼NW¼ and NE¼SW¼ (80 acres) to Peter Kascht (their son-in-law) for $50.
December 7, 1904 Peter Kascht & Leopoldina Kascht, his wife, sold SE¼NW¼ and NE¼SW¼ (80 acres) to John Lieser for $3900.



St. Martin, Stearns County, Minnesota:


Description of land:
The Village of St. Martin, Block 2, Lot 6, starting at the northwest corner of lot, running southeast along the north edge of the lot 107 feet, then southwest 97 feet to West Street, then north along West Street 97 feet to the beginning.


November 2, 1903 Joseph Blonigen and Theresia Blonigen, his wife, sold the land to Joseph Halbauer for $55.
April 25, 1914 The land was sold to John Derichs for $100. The sellers were Theresia Halbauer, (a widow), and her children and their spouses.

John Halbauer & Frances Halbauer, his wife, and Andrew Halbauer & Carolina Halbauer, his wife, of Marshall County, South Dakota.
