THREE AUTOS

______

IN AN AWFUL WRECK - ONE MAN
DEAD WITH A BROKEN NECK

Another Man May Not Survive -
A Third Breaks Leg in Awful Dive

______

One man was killed, one dangerously crippled, and another suffered from a broken leg, in a terrible head-on collision, two miles north east of Eden, just over the county line in Marshall county, Sunday morning, shortly after midnight.

It seems from reports that Howard Mitchlitsch in one Ford car followed closely behind by his cousin, Henry Mitchlitsch in another Ford car were enroute to the Sam Sampson farm going east from Eden. At the crown of a hill the first Ford car met a Whippet coach driven in the opposite direction by Mike Litchtenecker, with Aloysious Halbauer and his brother Andrew, and Adolph Deuitsch as passengers.

In the resulting crash the second Ford car could not be stopped in time to prevent from getting some of the collision. Aloysious Halbauer was thrown through the windshield and hit the bumper of one Ford and tossed into the roadside. He was instantly killed. His neck was broken.

Adolph Deuitsch was thrown through the windshield, suffered from a fractured skull, internal injuries and some dangerous gashes. He is in the Webster hospital, unconscious and with small chance of recovery.

Mike Lichtenacker was thrown through the top of the coach, had a leg broken in two places also dangerous cuts upon his arms and body.
