Mrs. Caroline Halbauer of Eden passed away Sunday, June 30 at
the Tekakwitha Hospital in Sisseton where she had been a patient
the past four weeks.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 3 at the Sacred Heart
Catholic Church at Eden for Mrs. Caroline Halbauer, Eden, who
died June 30 at the Tekakwitha Hospital, Sisseton, at the age
of 77 years, seven months, and four days. The Rev. Father E. M.
Riedelsheimer officiated. Interment was in St. Michael's cemetery.
A resident of Eden for the past 71 years, Mrs. Halbauer was
born November 26, 1879 at Walla, Burgenland, Austria-Hungary,
to Lucas and Amelia Deutsch, and was married to Andrew Halbauer.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church.
She was preceded in death by one daughter and three sons. She
is survived by six sons, Mike, Andrew, Rudolph, Albert, Robert,
and Henry.
Six daughters, Mrs. A. (Tracy) Nelson, Mrs. Tony (Tillie) Dretsch,
Mrs. Emil (Rose) Willsey, Mrs. Albert (Carrie) Spreeman, Mrs.
Frank (Agnes) Lendway, and Mrs. Marie Swinehart; three brothers,
Frank, Joseph and Henry Deutsch; one sister, Mrs. Ted (Rose)
Halbauer; 28 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
