last Saturday.

Funeral rites were conducted Wednesday morning at 10 a. m. at the
Sacred Heart church in Eden for Andrew Halbauer, 80, who passed
away at the local hospital Saturday, March 3, following a short
illness. Burial was made at the Eden cemetery. He was born in
Austria and came to America when about 12 years of age, settling
with his parents in Stearns county, Minn.
Mr. Halbauer lived two miles north of Eden and was one of the
pioneers of Marshall county having lived here for over fifty
years.
The widow, Mrs. Halbauer, seven sons, six daughters, and a
brother, John, survive.
The children are: Mrs. Theresa Nelson, Britton; Mrs. Tillie
Dretsch, Frazee, Minn.; Mrs. Rose Willsey, Ligioner, Ind.;
Mrs. Caroline Speerman, Mrs. Marie Swinehart, Miss Agnes
Halbauer, and Mike Halbauer, all of St. Paul; Andrew, Rudolph
and George, of the Eden community; Henry, in France with the
American forces; Robert, at home, and Albert, of Sisseton.
Two children, a boy and a girl, died in infancy. One son was
killed in an auto accident about 15 years ago.
There are 21 grandchildren.
